Forest Garden Discovery Trail

About Forest Garden Discovery Trail

From the main car park at Pandy follow the green waymarkers to the welcome board by the bridge over the Afon Babi. Across the bridge is a network of formal and informal paths winding their way amongst the collection of trees from around the World.

There is also a disabled only car park adjacent to the roadside giving direct access to the bridge on an all-ability path which follows the river to a viewpoint where you can hear the story of "Pont Llam yr Ewig", the Bridge of the Stags Leap. Also look out for the sound store on the trail with the story of the "Demons hollow tree".

Braille versions of the walking pack are available and can be obtained from the Visitor Centre

How to get there:

Forest Garden Discovery Trail can be started from Pandy car park in Coed y Brenin. Dolgellau, Porthmadog, Bala, Barmouth, and Machynlleth are the nearest towns or villages.

Turn east off the A470 in Ty'n-y-Groes, follow the tar road South, parrallel to the river for approx 1.5km, passing one turning on the left. At a crossroads, just after the Glasdir car park turn left uphill, turn right at the next cross roads and cross a small bridge (Pont Llam yr Ewig) and the car park is on your left in 200 metres.
