Craig yr Ogof Walk

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Craig yr Ogof Walk

This fairly level walk nonetheless has splendid views down the Afon Ystwyth and its steep sided valley. Old lead mine workings can be seen above its far banks. The walk is flanked by young Birch and other broadleaved trees, with a scattering of young Douglas Fir. In autumn, the woodland floor is carpeted with fungi.

How to get there:

Craig yr Ogof Walk can be started from Tynbedw Picnic Site in Tynybedw. Llanafan is the nearest town or village.

From Aberystwyth follow the B4340 to Trawsgoed. Follow this road through Trawsgoed until the road crosses the Afon Ystwyth and turn immediately left, following the river. The car park and picnic site is on the left a few hundred metres after the sawmill.
