Barcud Trail

This scenic trail is suitable for all abilities. There are no steps or stiles and the gradient is 10% or less with resting bays on uphill sections. The trail takes you around the edge of the Lake where daily Kite feeding takes place (weather permitting). Other birds often seen during Kite feeding include Herons, Buzzards and Ravens. You may be lucky enough to spot our unusual white Red Kite.

How to get there:

Barcud Trail can be started from Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre in Nant yr Arian. Ponterwyd is the nearest town or village.

Located 10 miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44, two miles west of Ponterwyd. The 525 bus from Aberystwyth to Ponterwyd stops at the entrance to the car park
