Gentleman's Walk

The Gentleman’s Walk, the second celebrated Picturesque circuit created by Johnes, passes through wilder scenery and steeper ground than the other walks at Hafod. The starting point for this walk is the Alpine Bridge, one mile from the car park. Particular highlights on the walk are the beech tree grove at Pant Melyn, the Cavern Cascade, the Tunnel, the Mossy Seat Falls and bridge and the rustic bridge over the Bwlchgwallter stream.

How to get there:

Gentleman's Walk can be started from Hafod Car Park in Hafod. Cwmystwyth is the nearest town or village.

From the Hafod Arms Hotel in Devil's Bridge take the B4574 to Cwmystwyth. Pass the The Arch car park and proceed downhill. Turn right shortly after passing the "Cwmystwyth" sign. Go past ADAS Pwllpeiran and proceed to a T junction and turn right. Pass Hafod Church and turn left into Hafod Car Park. , From Pontrhydygroes proceed north on the B4343 and turn right onto the B4574 towards Cwmystwyth when you see the Forestry Commission Hafod sign.
