About Gogerddan Trail

Stride out on this trail from the sheltered streamside picnic site. After passing some huge trees you will climb through woodlands known for their beautiful spring flowers. The woodland gets its name from nearby Plas Gogerddan, an old mansion owned the Pryse family who where big silver and lead mine owners.

How to get there:

Gogerddan Trail can be started from Gogerddan Picnic Site in Gogerddan Allt Ddel. Penrhyncoch is the nearest town or village.

From Aberystwyth: Take the A44 to Llangurig. After approximately 5km take the left hand turning at Lovesgrove onto the A4159 for Machynlleth. After going through Capel Dewi you will climb a hill. When descending look for a crossroads at the bottom and turn right for Penrhyncoch. Go past huge greenhouses on your right, ignore signs for Forestry Commission offices at Penrhyncoch on the left, and pass a row of houses on the left. The car park entrance appears suddenly on the left after the last house.

From the east: Take the A44 to Aberystwyth. Approximately 3km after Penllwyn Capel Bangor take the A4159 to Machynlleth on the right. After going through Capel Dewi you will climb a hill.
