Lochan Spling

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Lochan Spling

From the car park, the path crosses the Duchray Water and follows a circular route around Lochan Spling. There is an option to take a short diversion to a viewpoint above the loch before completing the loch-side walk, and then returning to the car park again by the way of the bridge across the Duchary water. Viewpoint currently closed to enable essential path maintenance to be carried out, please follow diversion signage.

The trail follows a well-compacted path, which may have some loose surface material in places.

How to get there:

Lochan Spling can be started from Milton in Loch Ard Forest which is part of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Aberfoyle is the nearest town or village.

Follow the B829 west from Aberfoyle for a mile and a half. Turn left over the River Forth and onto the forest road.

Follow the signs to a new car park just under a mile into the forest. Additional parking for horseboxes is provided 200 metres further on.
