Couligarten

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Couligarten

The trail, which may have some loose surface material in places, climbs gently into Loch Ard Forest through mixed woodland, and then a young Spruce plantation.

As the path rises to its highest point there are good views of Loch Ard and surrounding hills. From here the path descends through a mixed conifer plantation and then, as it passes the hamlet of Couligarten, it enters an avenue of native broadleaves as it meanders back to the car park.

How to get there:

Couligarten can be started from Kinlochard in Loch Ard Forest which is part of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Aberfoyle is the nearest town or village.

From Aberfoyle, follow the B829 along the north side of Loch Ard to Kinlochard.
