Red Sound Trail

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Red Sound Trail

This walk starts from the Pine Ridge car park which is accessed via the Forest Drive.

The 3 Lochs Forest Drive will be closed for the winter period from the 29th October 2011. It is open during the season April - October, 10am - 5pm. Out of season it is still accessible by foot or cycle.

From the car park, on a firm path surface, the trail takes you though mature woodland along the side of Loch Drunkie. Enjoy the tranquillity of the forest and the views across the loch. Alternatively, by contrast you could try the interactive sound sculptures along the way. As the path leaves the loch shore it climbs gently before returning to the car park through a mature stand of spruce trees.

How to get there:

Red Sound Trail can be started from Pine Ridge car park in Achray Forest which is part of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Aberfoyle is the nearest town or village.

From Aberfoyle, follow the Dukes Pass north.Take a right turn into the Three Lochs Forest Drive.

There is a charge of 2 pounds per car.

Pine Ridge car park is located within the forest and is only accessible by car when the Three Lochs Forest drive is open.
