Wild in the Woods
 

Get along to the David Marshall Lodge this weekend and discover how you can get involved helping the wildlife on your doorstep.
Join the Forest Ranger on Sat evening at 8pm for a Bat Watch including a talk and guided walk into the forest and find out more about these unusual nocturnal creatures. Refreshments provided. Bring suitable footwear and clothing, a torch and midge repellent. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Sunday will be a family fun day with a chance to meet people from different organisations who will be able to offer information and advice on how you can attract, and create havens for, wildlife in your own gardens. There will be also be displays, children’s activities, and native plants for sale. This is a free event and open to everyone.

How to get there: From Glasgow take the A81 north to Aberfoyle. From Stirling take the A84(T), A873 and A81 west to Aberfoyle. From Callander the A81 south to Aberfoyle or the more scenic A821 via The Trossachs and Duke's Pass. David Marshall Lodge is a mile north of Aberfoyle on the A821 Duke's Pass.

What's of interest
Unload the traps in the morning and identify what has been caught. On Saturday night go out and watch and learn about bats. During the day on Saturday and Sunday there is the opportunity to go on a guided walk to track wildlife in and about the forest. At the David Marshall Lodge there will be activities to keep the kids occupied.
