About Green Route

The Glentress Green Route is a cracking wee trail, which starts and finishes at the Buzzards Nest car park. Along the way it takes in some stunning views of Peebles, the Tweed Valley and the surrounding hills.

At just 4.5km, it’s an ideal distance for first time mountain bikers or those who haven’t been on a bike in a while. Although short, the real beauty of this route is that over half of it is on purpose-built green grade singletrack trail.

Check out the the official 7stanes website for more information on the Buzzards Nest, Narrow Neck and 'Step back in time!' trails, as well as up-to-date trail conditions.

How to get there:

Green Route can be started from Buzzards Nest Car Park in Glentress Forest which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders. Peebles is the nearest town or village.

The car park is one and a half miles east of Peebles on the A72.

Once on forest road go past the Osprey Car Park and follow road uphill beyond the Red Squirrel Car park. Follow the forest road for about one mile, the road splits to the left uphill from the forest drive. The car park is well sign posted.

Please adhere to the 15mph speed limit.
