Elginia Trail
 

This circular trail on forest tracks and paths leads to Cutties Hillock Quarry and viewpoint. Follow the footprints of Elginia mirabilis, a prehistoric reptile whose fossils were found nearby. Replicas can be seen at Elgin Museum.

How to get there:

Elginia Trail can be started from Leggat Quarry Car Park in Quarrelwood Woodland Park which is part of Moray Forests. Elgin is the nearest town or village.

By car - Take the A96 from Elgin towards Inverness . Drive past the Eight Acres Hotel and Oakwood on your right and take the next road on your right, signed to Rosebrae. Look out for the car park about 300 metres on the right.
