Dun Ghallain woodland trail

This trail is designed as low impact walk. Board walks have been constructed over the wet areas but the rest is very natural and care when walking will be required. Many wild birds such as woodpeckers, crossbills and crested tits are present. A frequent visitor to the skies above is the magnificent sea eagle. The sea shore has otters and seals to watch. The trail has two paths that start at the same stile. The path heading to the right is out-and-back and ends at a viewing area over the loch. The path to the left goes on a circular route through some fantastic fern areas and old Scots pine before returning to the stile.

How to get there:

Dun Ghallain woodland trail can be started from Dun Ghallain car park in Dun Ghallain which is part of Sunart Oakwood. Glenborrodale is the nearest town or village.

The car park is on the left hand side of the road beside a knoll approximately 400m from Camusinas heading towards Glenborrodale.
