Farleitter Ridge Walk
This is a circular walk climbing up onto Farleitter Ridge. Follow the green waymarkers from the car park on a good forest road through mature Scots Pine trees, until striking off on a path through the woods. Stunning views suddenly open up over Inshriach Forest, the surrounding mountains and the Uath Lochans. Continue along the path through the trees until a large cairn is reached. The magnificent views here are of the Spey Valley and Loch Insh. This loch and the surrounding marshes are managed by the RSPB as one of the most important wetland sites in Europe.
How to get there:
Farleitter Ridge Walk can be started from Uath Lochans Car Park in Inshriach Forest. Kincraig is the nearest town or village.
From Kincraig, take the road opposite the memorial stone in the middle of the village, which leads down to the wooden bridge over the River Spey. Carry on this road for about 1 mile to reach a T-junction. Turn right, and after 0.5 mile, a minor road appears on the left beside Insh House. Take this road for 1.5.miles to where a Forest Enterprise sign appears on the right just before a forest road. Take this road to reach the car park.
