About Prince Charlie's Cave Walk
This newly restored trail offers superb views of Loch Arkaig, the Great Glen and Ben Nevis. Very steep in places, the trail winds its way through the forest and out onto a plateau, with some of the best views in the area.
The path then joins onto the old pass that goes through to the ruined settlement of Fedden. The trail makes a detour off up to Prince Charlie's Cave where you can go to a viewpoint and then return to the main trail.
Follow the main trail down through the forest where, if you are lucky, you may see a red squirrel or pine marten.
How to get there:
Prince Charlie's Cave Walk can be started from Caig Waterfalls Car Park in Clunes. Spean Bridge is the nearest town or village.
Access is by road only. Take the A82 north of Spean Bridge. About one mile outside turn left at the Commando Memorial. Follow this road, crossing the Caledonian Canal. Turn right onto the B8005. Follow this road for approximately five miles. The car park is on the right.
