Charcoal Making in the Forest
 

Join the Forest Rangers and learn the ancient traditional woodland skill of making charcoal. On Friday we will be selecting the wood a filling and firing the kiln and on Saturday we will be opening the kiln and bagging the charcoal. Tools and gloves provided.

How to get there: From the A82, at or just north of Fort Augustus, follow the unclassified roads through Jenkins Park and continue towards Auchterawe for half a mile. Fort Augustus District Office is ahead of you. There is a bus service between Fort Augustus and Inverness that stops at the main villages along the route and will stop on request at sensible stopping places.
