The Woodland Trail

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About The Woodland Trail

From the car park, follow the forest road waymarked red nnd white until reaching a junction on the right. Take the path on the right through Bog Pinewood to where a footbridge crosses the burn.

This bridge leads to the Glenmore Campsite and the main beach area of Loch Morlich. However, ignore the bridge and follow the burn downstream through some old Caledonian Pine forest to reach a junction on the right waymarked red.

Don't turn right but continue straight on, past the base of a knoll (good views can be had from its top), and eventually back to the car park on the original route.

How to get there:

The Woodland Trail can be started from Hayfield in Glenmore which is part of Glenmore Forest Park. Aviemore is the nearest town or village.

Take the ski road from Aviemore towards the Cairngorms and after six miles you will be in Glenmore Forest Park.

Go through Glenmore Village, cross the bridge over the Abhainn Ruigh-eunachan and the Herons Field car park is 150 yards beyond the bridge on the right.
