Allt Mor All-Abilities Trail
The trail surface and gradients of this circular path are suitable for all abilities. From the disabled bays at the top of the car park, head for the bridge over the Allt Mor but turn right onto the trail before reaching the bridge. Although this is quite a short route, it does take you through a prime area of Caledonian Pine Forest with its rich understory vegetation of heathers, blaeberries, cowberries and juniper. This area provides a vision for the Native Pinewood habitat restoration programme which has recently been carried out over large parts of Glenmore. Follow the trail in an anti-clockwise direction, pausing to take in the information on the onsite interpretation panels. On reaching the Allt Mor, two picnic benches have been provided to enable the enjoyment of the peace and quiet whilst viewing the majestic skyline of the Northern Cairngorms.
How to get there:
Allt Mor All-Abilities Trail can be started from Allt Mor Car Park in Glenmore which is part of Glenmore Forest Park. Aviemore is the nearest town or village.
Take the ski road from Aviemore towards the Cairngorms and after 6 miles you will be in Glenmore Forest Park. Go through Glenmore Village and cross the bridge over the Abhainn Ruigh-eunachan. The Allt Mor car park is approximately 0.75 mile beyond the bridge on the left hand side of the road (a green Forest Enterprise sign indicates the access point).
