Morangie Cycle Route

(Average user rating3 unrated 3/5)

About Morangie Cycle Route

This is a moderate grade route, mostly on forest road with some demanding off road sections.

This route offers some particularly fine views across the Dornoch Firth and along the Sutherland coast. These view points are the ideal spot to enjoy a rest after the climb up from the Lairgs of Tain.

How to get there:

Morangie Cycle Route can be started from Aldie Burn Car Park in Morangie Forest which is part of Easter Ross. Tain is the nearest town or village.

Follow the Aldie Burn forest walk signs south from the A9 Tain bypass down Scotsburn Road for two miles to the signed forest entrance. The car park is about 1/8 mile down the forest road on your left.

Really enjoyed doing this route. Did the full circle to the top of Tain Hill then down the road to Tain and back along to Aldie Burn. Niocely challenging and great views.

This is quite a difficult ride. The track is rough in places and there are some tough climbs. I don't think it sutable for families. However, it is well marked and you do get great views.
