About Douglas Walk

After a steep climb beneath the towering Douglas firs, this  walk will bring you onto a seated viewpoint where you will get amazing views across the surrounding countryside and onwards towards the Solway.

How to get there:

Douglas Walk can be started from Doach Wood Car Park in Doach Wood which is part of Forests of the Solway Coast. Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, and Dumfries are the nearest towns or villages.

The car park is situated off the B736, west of Palnackie and south of Castle Douglas.

The nearest train station is in Dumfries.
