About Viewpoint Trail

This trail is more manageable for the less energetic than the Larg Hill trail. The views along this trail extend out to the Isle of Man and the winding Cree Estuary as it leaves Scotland behind to merge into the greater oceans.

How to get there:

Viewpoint Trail can be started from Kirroughtree Visitor Centre in Galloway Forest Park. Newton Stewart and Creetown. is the nearest town or village.

From Newton Stewart:

Take A75 signposted Dumfries for 3 miles. Turn left at Palnure signposted Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.

From New Galloway:

Take A712 to Newton Stewart. Turn left at T-junction onto A75. Turn left at Palnure signposted Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.

By Bus:

Service 431from Newton Stewart to Gatehouse of Fleet. 500 and x75 Newton Stewart to Dumfries.

Exit the bus at Palnure, a short walk from Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.
