About Lade walk
This path was newly created in 2008, it follows the length of the old water channel known as a lade. You can follow the lade all the way up to the Bruntis Loch and discover more about the local history and the surrounding area as you go. The path is quite narrow so please take care!

How to get there:
Lade walk can be started from Kirroughtree Visitor Centre in Galloway Forest Park. Newton Stewart and Creetown. is the nearest town or village.
From Newton Stewart:
Take A75 signposted Dumfries for 3 miles. Turn left at Palnure signposted Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.
From New Galloway:
Take A712 to Newton Stewart. Turn left at T-junction onto A75. Turn left at Palnure signposted Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.
By Bus:
Service 431from Newton Stewart to Gatehouse of Fleet. 500 and x75 Newton Stewart to Dumfries.
Exit the bus at Palnure, a short walk from Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.
