About Cally Horse Route

This is a lovely route at all times of the year. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife, from the soaring buzzard to the humble snowdrop.

 

 

How to get there:

Cally Horse Route can be started from Cally Wood in Galloway Forest Park. Gatehouse of Fleet is the nearest town or village.

From Newton Stewart:

Leave Newton Stewart on the A75 heading towards Dumfries, turn left signposted Gatehouse of Fleet (19 miles). Straight through Gatehouse heading for the Cally Palace hotel, turn right into the Cally Palace hotel and the carpark is on the left.

From New Galloway;

Take the A762 heading for Laurieston, from Laurieston take the Gatehouse road signposted Gatehouse of Fleet from Laurieston. Turn left at Gatehouse of Fleet heading for the Cally Palace hotel. Turn right into the Cally Palace hotel and the carpark is on the left.
