Yellow Trail

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Yellow Trail

This trail is slightly longer than the white trail but again a nice gently stroll. In spring the woodland is carpeted with bluebells, and in summer the sound of the bumble bees going about their business mixed in with a myraid of butterflies, make this a delightful trail.

How to get there:

Yellow Trail can be started from Barhill Wood in Galloway Forest Park. Kirkcudbright is the nearest town or village.

From Newton Stewart: Follow A75 signposted Dumfries. After signs to Gatehouse, and then further on Cream o' Galloway, take next right signposted Kirkcudbright A755. Follow this road for several miles until you reach a t-junction. Turn right and then take next left. Passing supermarket on your right follow this road up hill for roughly half a mile. The car park is on the right.

From New Galloway: Follow the A762 to Ringford. Turn right onto A75 and then turn left following signs to Kirkcudbright. At t-junction turn right over Tongland bridge and head into the town. Shortly after reaching the shops take a left at the crossroads. Passing the supermarket on your right follow this road up hill for roughly half a mile. The car park is on the right.
