About Loch Avich Cycle Trail
This trail takes you out through the forests of Barnaline, rising to a view over Loch Avich.
Using both forest road then public road the tail circles the loch. Dorlin Point, half way along the north shore, makes a great place to stop for a picnic.
Look out for red squirrels, pine martins, buzzards and eagles throughout the year. During the summer months you may see osprey fishing on the lochs.
How to get there:
Loch Avich Cycle Trail can be started from Barnaline in Inverliever Forest which is part of West Loch Awe. Dalavich is the nearest town or village.
From Lochgilphead, follow the A816 one mile north of Kilmartin, then follow the B840 to Ford then the unclassified road to Dalavich. Barnaline car park is at the eastern end of the village.
From Oban or Glasgow, follow the A85 to Taynuilt then the unclassified road south to Kilchrennan and Dalavich.
