About Glengorm -Dervaig trail
The cycle route linking Dervaig and Glengorm, travels through both the agricultural land of Glengorm Estate and the Forests of Quinish. The route is largely on farm track or forest road.
It offers many fine views from the open rolling grassed fields of Glengorm Estate with resident highland cows to the forested areas of Quinish with its red deer and eagles. Local myth is that Glengorm came from the Gaelic of blue glen, the blue referring to the crofts that were cleared by being set on fire as a result of the clearances.
This route also links with the cycle route over Glengorm hill land to Loch Frisa and also through to Loch Tor.
A map of the cycle route is in the Forests of Mull leaflet (PDF 3.5Mb)
