Bin Forest Walk (Yellow Trail)
 

This walk is ideal if you want to get to know The Bin forest. It takes you into the heart of the forest where larch, pine and spruce are grown to produce good quality timber for house building, fencing materials for farms and even timber-decking for gardens!

How to get there:

Bin Forest Walk (Yellow Trail) can be started from The Bin Forest Car Park in The Bin Forest. Huntly is the nearest town or village.

Follow the A96 north beyond Huntly. After approximately 2 miles the car park is sign-posted off to the right.

Mammals: Red squirrels and roe deer can be seen early morning and at dusk. We have information about Red squirrel and Roe deer

Birds: Many woodland birds can be seen, look out for the occasional crossbill flocks. Birds of prey such as buzzard, sparrowhawk and peregrine can sometimes be seen too.

Insects and reptiles: In many of the fire dams we have newts.
Butterflies seen include Red Admirals, Meadow Browns,Scotch Argus,Mountain Ringlets and many more.
