Peregrine Wild Watch Trail to Hide
 

A short trail through open woodland leads from the visitor centre to the bird hide overlooking the quarry, with opportunities to see some of the local wildlife.

Huntly is the nearest town or village.

Mammals: Occasionally you might see red squirrels or roe deer along the trail and quarry hide. We have information about Red squirrel and Roe deer

Birds: Other birds of prey that might be seen include Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel. Regular woodland birds to the feeding stations and throughout the site are Finches, Tits, Siskins,Grey and Pied wagtails, Greater Spotted Woodpeckers, Pippits and, if lucky, Crossbills and Spotted Flycatchers.

Insects and reptiles: Palmate newts and Commom frogs regular visitors to our pond. You will be amazed at the exciting aquatic life within the pond; mayflies, dragonfly and damslefly nymphs, beetle and midgie larvea.

Habitats: In July and August wild flowers often seen on the edges of the paths and in the woodland. Please ask our wardens for more details.
