Easy Access Trail

Jointly funded by Forest Enterprise and Friends of Chopwell Wood, this is a circular walk around the pine woodland adjacent to the main park. The specially laid surface with no inclines makes it ideal for wheelchair users. Of special interest on this walk is a sculpture called the Spirit.

How to get there:

Easy Access Trail can be started from Chopwell Wood Main Car Park in Chopwell Woodland Park. High Spen, Chopwell, Rowlands Gill, Gateshead, and Newcastle are the nearest towns or villages.

600 metres along road into the wood, the car park is situated on the left.
