Nordic Walking

About Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking suits all ages and a wide range of fitness levels. It was developed to enable cross country skiers to train throughout the year. Perfect for those who want some gentle exercise beyond walking. It can also become a challenging workout for improvers. Instructors all hold International Nordic Walking Instructor Qualifications. We recommend "beginners" attend a progressive course to develop good technique. Improver sessions take place at the same time.

A parking pass will be issued for these sessions. Please park in the main car parks.

Series 1 - 21st, 28th January, 4th and 11th February.
Series 2 - 25th February, 4th, 11th and 18th March.
Series 3 - 21st, 28th april, 5th and 12th May.
Series 4 - 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th June.

Nordic Walking courses can be organised for your staff, friends or club members or as fund raising events.

How to get there:

Nordic Walking starts at Education Centre in Alice Holt Forest Centre which is part of Alice Holt Forest. Farnham is the nearest town or village.

From the A31 turn off at Farnham onto the A325. Stay on the A325 for approximately 3 miles. From Portsmouth and Petersfield take the A325 towards Farnham. At the Halfway House Pub on the A325 turn off the main road following signs for the Alice Holt Forest. The entrance is 300 yards along this road on the left. The nearest station is at Bentley. From here you can walk through Alice Holt Forest to the Forest Centre along public rights of way. Alternatively take the train to Farnham and catch a bus to Bucks Horn Oak, where you can walk to the Forest Centre. The Education Centre is located adjacent to the second car park you come to after entering the Forest Centre.
