Kielder Festival of Lanterns-Follow the Heron

About Kielder Festival of Lanterns-Follow the Heron

A celebration of Northumberland culture with the first ever lantern festival to celebrate the cultural diversity of the region. Join in this large scale, lantern-lit procession through Kielder Forest and down to the shores of Kielder Water, where an extravagant water-based finale awaits you.

Lantern-making workshops will be held during the afternoon in preparation for the big parade.

Workshops will also take place at Kielder Castle and the Calvert Trust, including 'Splatterday', inspired by the Hindu Festival of Holi.

Further details of the event can be found on the Visit Kielder website.
