The Osprey MTB trail (download map) is the latest addition to the family of Kielder trails. It starts at Kielder Castle and heads up the Forest Drive to the first of several sections of sweeping singletrack as it turns along Kielder Burn and climbs into the forest. The trail links back onto the Lakeside Way on forest road or for the more adventurous via a new bridge over Plashetts Burn at Wainhope. This section is an exhilerating run down singletrack with breathtaking views to the Lakeside Way. As with all trails in Kielder, please be fully prepared for riding in remote environments and come properly equipped. The weather can change rapidly and small equipment failures can quickly turn into a more serious situation. Always let somebody know where you are going and when you are due back.

How to get there:
Osprey Mountain Bike Trail can be started from Kielder Castle Forest Park Centre in Kielder which is part of Kielder. Kielder Village near Bellingham is the nearest town or village.
Kielder Castle is situated at the northern end of Kielder Water, off the C200.
