How to get there:

Woodpecker Trail can be started from Salcey Forest Access Point in Salcey Forest. Hartwell is the nearest town or village.

Salcey Forest is between Milton Keynes and Northampton, and located immediately to the east of the small village of Hartwell.

OS Grid Reference: SP 795514

Birds: On this trail you could see all three species of British woodpecker: the green, greater and lesser spotted varieties.
