Pexton Moor Trail

A circular trail around Pexton Moor taking in the diverse mixture of woodland, scrub and grassland in the area. There are outstanding views over the riggs and dales of Dalby and over Ryedale towards Helmsley. The route follows a mixture of earth tracks, forest road and compacted gravel path. It may be slippery in wet weather. It is our intention to make this a wheel/pushchair friendly route. In the meantime the flat terrain of the area means that it is a very easy route to follow for people who have some mobility.

How to get there:

Pexton Moor Trail can be started from Haygate in Dalby Forest. Thornton le Dale is the nearest town or village.

When entering the forest via Thornton le Dale Haygate is approximately half a mile past the Forest Drive Toll Point. (Vehicle tolls apply please see main entry for Dalby Forest for details)
