About Nightwatch

A nocturnal voyage of discovery in Dalby Forest. Included in the evening is star gazing with the local astronomical society (weather permitting), live moth trapping and bat detecting. There will also be convalescent bats to meet with expert information about them, and the chance to meet an owl and learn about owl conservation work in the area. Bring a torch and wear plenty of warm clothing. The event will officially finish at 23:30 (11:30 pm) although you may leave when you wish.

How to get there:

Nightwatch starts at Dalby Forest Visitor Centre and Shop in Dalby Forest. Thornton-le-Dale is the nearest town or village.

By car or cycle. Leave the A170 Scarborough to Thirsk road at Thornon le Dale, 14 miles west of Scarborough.Take the road signed for Whitby. The entrance to the forest is signed about one and a half miles from Thornton le Dale. Follow the Forest Drive to the Visitor Centre.
