Deepdale Habitat Trail

DUE TO SNOW ROAD ACCESS IS POSSIBLE UP TO THE VISITOR CENTRE ONLY BUT ALL MOUNTAIN BIKE AND WALKING TRAILS ARE CLOSED. updated 10/2/12

A winding and hilly route passing a great diversity of forest environments from close grown conifers to small wildflower rich meadows and ponds. It is great for birds and butterflies in the right season.

How to get there:

Deepdale Habitat Trail can be started from Bickley Gate in Dalby Forest. Thornton-le-Dale is the nearest town or village.

Follow the forest drive for about 7 miles from the visitor centre or enter the forest drive by the north eastern toll point at Bickley near Langdale End.

Excellent walk - as described steep inclines int the dale (some steps) - once in the dale the walk is on forest tracks & woodlandpaths the dale is shelteredbe prepared for a steep walk out but dont let it put you off
