In search of the Nightjar
Learn about this rare and elusive nocturnal bird, whose usual habitat is lowland heath, but seems to thrive on the clearfell sites in upland forests. A superb opportunity for a stroll in the forest at dusk. This event may involve driving into the forest and you may be asked to take your vehicle. Mostly on forest roads and fairly level with some gentle slopes or short hill sections. Slow walk with lots of stopping and listening hopefully to hear and possibly see the Nightjar. Distance of walk - 1-2 miles maximum, probably less.
