Henrys Hike

(Average user rating3 unrated 3/5)

Follow the red waymarkers on a walk across the central plateau of the hill taking in views of the Wrekin to the east.

The trail has rocky sections and exposed roots but is mostly flat. Expect the trail to be muddy seasonally and after rain.

During the Battle of Shrewsbury in 1403 Henry IV's armies amassed on and around the hill having marched from Worcester.

Not sure what John Jones means as I've never seen Haughmond Hill so busy with people enjoying themselves in the 33 years I've been using the hill. The only downside is the amount of dog mess, the closer to the car park the worse it is.

Haughmond Hill was once a beautiful place now it is a area of devastation. I have been going up the hill for 65 years It makes me so sad to know that my grandchildren will not enjoy the area as I did at their age
