About UFO Trail

In December 1980 several sightings of a UFO were reported in Rendlesham Forest. Many people think these mysterious events are the most significant UFO incident to have occured in the UK. There is no tangible evidence on the ground, but following the trail with the help of our leaflet and your imagination, an intriguing picture can be painted.

How to get there:

UFO Trail can be started from Rendlesham Forest Centre in Rendlesham Wood. Woodbridge is the nearest town or village.

Follow the B1084 Woodbridge to Orford road. Rendlesham Forest Centre is approx 4 miles along this road on the right hand side.

We cycled the trail at a leisurely pace with the kids and it took about an hour and a half with the children stopping for the codes on the many marker poles. There is a UFO code breaker sheet available from the info kiosk for 20p which the kids enjoyed but make sure you have a pen or pencil as they don't sell any there. We also bought the map for £1 which gave narrative for each of the five main waypoints. paths are easy to cycle (watch for the sand!) and certianly walk. great way to spend part of the afternoon.
