Bidston Moss

Forestry Commission North West EnglandBidston is a group of four community woodlands with views of the coast, the heart of the city of Liverpool and the Welsh mountains. Working in Partnership with the North West Development Agency and Groundwork the Forestry Commission is restoring the site for public access and enjoyment.

Bidston Moss is the largest of the four sites with native broadleaf woodland and much open grassland providing a great backdrop for people to enjoy a range of outdoor activities.

At Bidston moss there is a network of paths and cycle tracks including a 2km perimeter cycle trail.

The Foresry Commission is working with a multi user access group to take forward the management of the site.

Birkenhead and Wallasey are the nearest towns or villages. If travelling by road turn off at junction 1 of the M53 or find the site with Multimap.  The OS Grid Reference is SJ295908.

What's of interest

One of the biggest expanses of water on the Wirral which draws in a range of birdlife.
