Cycling at Grizedale
 

Mountain bikers on singletrack. Grizedale. North West England FDGrizedale Forest Park provides a great day out for all levels of cyclist. There are a range of waymarked trails that lead the cyclist around the forest on forest roads and tracks. 

A guide map is included in the Grizedale Map Pack from the Visitor Centre which details all the waymarked routes.

Bike Hire is available adjacent to the centre including a range of bike sizes and facilities for children.

Please do not cycle along waymarked walking paths and be alert at all times as the steep gravel roads offer challenging conditions for cycling.

Try one of our five waymarked cycle trails or if you want something more challenging try our new The North Face Trail:-

  • Goosey Foot Tarn - start at Moor Top  car park - blue waymarker - 2 miles - 0.5 hours - moderate

  • Grizedale Tarn - start at Bogle Crag car park - black waymarker - 4.5 miles - 1.5 hours - moderate

  • Moor Top - start at Grizedale Visitor Centre - purple waymarker - 7 miles - 1.5 hours - moderate

  • Hawkshead Moor - start at Grizedale Visitor Centre - green waymarker - 10.5 miles - 2.5 hours - demanding

  • Silurian Way - start at Grizedale Visitor Centre - orange waymarker - 14 miles - 3.5 hours - demanding
