Visits to woodland - household surveys
The Scottish Recreation Survey (ScRS), which measured and collected details about the Scottish adult population’s participation in outdoor recreation in Scotland, ran from July 2003 until December 2012, with 1,000 adults interviewed in their home each month. The ScRS has now been replaced by a new survey, Scotland's People and Nature Survey (SPANS), which is running in 2013 and then expected to run every 3 years.
The following pages provide summary figures from the ScRS on visits to woodland. Further information on the survey, including copies of annual reports and online data viewers to access more detailed results, is available from the Scottish Natural Heritage website at www.snh.gov.uk/land-and-sea/managing-recreation-and-access/increasing-participation/measuring-participation/
