Forestry Statistics 2013 - UK-Grown Timber

Information on removals from Forestry Commission (FC) and Forest Service (FS) woodlands is extracted from administrative systems.

A total of 4.8 million green tonnes of softwood was removed from FC/FS woodlands in 2012, a 1% decrease from the 2011 figure (Table 2.3). Over one half (54%) of FC/FS softwood removals in 2012 occurred in Scotland, 24% in England, 14% in Wales and 8% in Northern Ireland.
