Forestry Commission facilities and activities

Information on the number of Forestry Commission sites with specific facilities and activities is derived from data provided on the Forestry Commission website. A total of 693 sites were featured on the website in August 2012: 332 (48%) in Scotland, 250 (36%) in England and 111 (16%) in Wales (Table 6.12).

Most sites had parking facilities and around three quarters of sites (73%) offered walking activities. Cycling routes (38%) and picnic sites (37%) were each available at around two fifths of sites.
