Whatever your ability there’s something for everyone at Alice Holt. Our 3 mile cycle trail is suitable for both children and adults, offering all the family a chance to explore further into the forest. We have a short, safe Beginners Track for those just starting out on two wheels.
From the 18th November until further notice we are unable to offer cycle hire facilities due to the withdrawal of Quench Cycles from site.
You can continue to enjoy our cycle tracks and trails during this time.
As part of the redevelopment of Alice Holt, a project to convert existing buildings to a new cycle facility will commence shortly with an intended delivery date of Spring 2014. Alongside this we will advertise a business opportunity for cycle hire with the intention of acquiring a new business partner to coincide with the opening of the new building.
If you are interested in this opportunity keep an eye on our website where details will be posted soon: www.forestry.gov.uk/tenders
Quench Cycles will be concentrating their attentions and resources on their Bedgebury operation in Kent, in which endeavour we wish them every success.
Cycling for All
We are currently exploring with CTC the possibility of being able to continue providing opportunities for adaptive (all ability) cycling. While this opportunity will be restricted to existing volunteers and committed groups rather than general hire, we hope to be able to resolve this quickly and provide further information shortly.
A range of specialist cycles make cycling a fun, healthy option for people who might find regular bikes unsuitable. Tricycles help with balance and confidence, tandems make cycling very sociable and hand-powered trikes enable cycling with no leg-power whatsoever.
These cycles are also suitable for people returing to health who are not quite up to riding a standard bike but want to start getting active.
