Horse RidingEnjoy a scenic ride through mature pine forests, birch woodlands and open heathland on our network of bridleways, forest roads and tracks.

We allow horse riding on bridleways and permissive access on forest roads (gravel, vehicle width tracks).

During weekends and school holidays,  Birches Valley can get very busy so we recommend horse boxes park at Rifle Range Car Park, next to the Cadet buildings, Rifle Range Corner, Penkridge Bank Road, Rugeley, WS15 2UA (nearest postcode)

Hi, I've been a horse owner for many years and love going for hacks on and around the chase. But over the years there has been nothing more provided for us. The bike tracks now cover miles over the chase and are being improved all the time, is their any possibility of a few jumps for us horseriders to enjoy in the future? Many Thanks

Hi Jane, There is an extensive network of bridleways on Cannock Chase, the best map for these is OS Explorer 244. We also allow access on all our main tracks.
