Fineshade Wood activities

Woody the Forestry Commission RangerJoin us at Fineshade Woods on Sunday 11 September for Forest Discovery Day, a spectacular celebration to mark the 2011 International Year of Forests. 

Why not come along have fun and show your love for your local woodland! There will be plenty of fantastic free activities for both children and adults including a mass tree hug at 2pm.

Join in the fun and adventure

Throughout the day there will be;

  • childrens activities
  • self led Forestry Discovery Day trail
  • cycle orienteering course (with discount off cycle hire)
  • willow weaving & green wood working
  • storytelling
  • dog Rally Obedience demonstration
  • woodland bird walks with the RSPB
  • Ask the forester, question time
  • forestry walks

And there’s more! Onsite displays and panels will give you the opportunity to learn more about climate change, forest management and the work we do.
