The National Tree Safety Group recognised the lack of a scientific evidence base for Tree Risk management. To help fill this gap the NTSG commissioned research to be undertaken by the Centre for Decision Analysis and Risk Management (DARM), at Middlesex University. The research will initially be broken down in to two parts. The first to determine the risk posed by trees, using existing data sources and collating information to one authoritative reference. The second part focuses on the public perception of the risks posed by trees and tree failure.
