Visitor centres
Please note that car parking charges now apply at all of our three visitor centres.
Glentrool, Clatteringshaws and Kirroughtree visitor centres are now closed for the winter. Thank you for visiting us this year and we look forward to seeing you again in 2012!
(All centres will all re-open at the end of March 2012.)
Trails closed
Glentrool/Kirroughtree - work to improve our walkers trails at Glentrool and Kirroughtree is now well underway. As this work is carried out sections of the trails will be closed or diverted. This page will be updated regularly so do pop back to see what trails are currently being effected.
Please follow diversion signs and safety signage on site.
Glentrool
Green and yellow trails are closed. The Blue and red trails are open. 23.01.12
Trail section that runs past old toilet block near visitor centre is closed due to tree removal. We now hope to have this work completed by 17th February 2012. Please follow diversions.
Kirroughtree
Kirroughtree - The minor public road into Kirroughtre from palnure will be closed this roughly a week for drainage work to be carried out. There will be a short diversion in place. Updated 10.02.2012
Diversions currently in place affecting all walkers trails due to tree removal and path upgrades. Please follow all on site safety warnings and diversions. We hope to have this work completed by the end of March 2012.
Southern Upland Way - walkers are being diverted and asked to exit at Holm farm entrance and head down to Clackaneasy Bridge where you can pick up the walk again from there and likewise from Clackaneasy clockwise.
Torrs Warren - This wood is closed due to tree cutting. Work due to finsh end of February 2012. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please be aware...
Southern Upland Way/Glenrool 7stanes - Harvesting in the Loch Dee area. Trail will remain open but please follow on site safety signage and take extra care on this stretch as large forest machines will be working in this area.

New path at Murray's Birthplace. This is a great circular route and will take about 40 minutes to walk.
