Car Parks & Discovery Pass

Why not visit the forest by public transport? Delamere has a railway station, with trains running hourly between Manchester and Chester operated by Northern Rail. Travelling by train is much better for the environment and is a fantastic way to get to the Forest, with our station located a short 10 minute walk from our information centre.

We are part of the Mid Cheshire community rail partnership supported by the Mid Cheshire Rail Users Association which is responsible for championing rail travel using the Mid Cheshire line.

Afan forest park visitor centre and car park. South WalesIf you do choose to travel by car, there are several car parks that can be used to access the forest at Delamere. The car parks adjacent to the information centre can get very busy at weekends so it is recommended that visitors use our other car parks where possible.

It is essential that visitors make use of the car parks and do not obstruct traffic by parking on roadsides or in front of barriers. This is so that access is maintained for emergency vehicles and people who live on-site.

Discovery passes, which include free parking along with a range of other discounts and benefits can be purchased from the information centre at a cost of £30. This money is used to help support the work of the Forestry Commission and to keep the forest maintained for public enjoyment.
