Welcome to Havant Thicket!
Havant Thicket is a fantastic wood that is located to the east of Rowland’s Castle and to the north of Leigh Park. The wood’s car park is accessed from Manor Lodge Road, which is the B2149.
Havant Thicket is mixed woodland which includes many different tree species, from the easily recognisable Oak and Birch to the less well-known but beautiful Japanese Cedar. Due to the wide variety of species the trees from this wood could end up as many things including telegraph poles, boats, oak barns, furniture, fences and firewood.
The Wood is an important habitat for some protected wildlife including dormice and bats. Some of the more common wildlife you may see in the Wood includes fallow, roe and muntjac deer, foxes, rabbits, reptiles and many species of birds.

Get Active, Feel great!
Havant Borough Council has joined up with other agencies to promote a local campaign to get Havant active!
The aim is to encourage participation in some form of sport or physical activity and make it a natural part of everyday life.
According to recent medical advances, adults should be doing at least 30 minutes of activity 5 times a week.
The benefits are that it promotes good health, weight control, reduces stress and most of all it is fun and will make you feel good! Everyone can benefit from regular activity whatever your age, size or physical condition!
